Singapore House Music Pioneers Reunite for SPIRIT’s Velvet Affair
Aldrin, Jeremy Boon and Brendon Perera come together for a rare back-to-back-to-back set, celebrating the music and legacy of Velvet Underground with the people who still feel it.
At the centre of the event are three DJs who helped pave the way for Singapore’s house music and club culture: Aldrin, Jeremy Boon and Brendon Perera.
For Velvet Affair, the three will play a rare extended back-to-back-to-back set, selecting favourite records from the Velvet Underground era and reconnecting with the music, memories and moments that helped define an important chapter in Singapore nightlife.
They are joined by Mike Risk, Merah and Folie à Deux, taking the music from afternoon into sunset and through the night.
From Daylight Into Night
Recently refurbished, El Chido sits on the rooftop of Pullman Singapore Hill Street, right in the heart of the city.
It is an intimate poolside space with an infinity pool, gorgeous skyline views of Marina Bay, all-weather cover, and a full food and drinks menu, so guests can arrive early, eat, settle in, and stay through sunset into the night.
Delicious Mexican plates, cocktails, the infinity pool and one of Singapore’s best rooftop views set the scene for a long afternoon and evening of house music.

Jeremy Boon’s love affair with House music started in 1991 when Asia’s premier electronic music club Zouk opened its doors to the public. Not only defining Zouk’s early years of Balearic sounds alongside his mentor DJ Alfredo from Ibiza, but also continuously pushing the boundaries of House music in its various guises be it Afro, Latin, Jazz, Funk, Soul or Disco inspired tunes. He is known for his diverse and innovative approach to House music with his signature style of curating eclectic tunes has earned him a reputation as a tastemaker.
Throughout his career, Jeremy Boon has shared the stage with an impressive roster of superstar DJs and renowned artists, including Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Grace Jones, Boy George, Jeremy Healy, Fatboy Slim, Dimitri From Paris, Joe Claussell, Diplo, Simon Dunmore, Solomun, Claptone & John Summit. He has also taken his music to international stages, performing at iconic venues and festivals in places like Ibiza, New York, Tokyo, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival in France, Ultra Music Festival in Korea, China, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines & Malaysia.

He prefers the low-profile, lo-fi approach to his work, even, with a career that’s almost 4 decades ‘young’ now, and still growing. Brendon has a long history of Clubs and Music; starting out in 1980, in the local mobile circuit, and moving on to Clubs a year later. A visit to New York in 1984, and visiting clubs such as the Funhouse, the Paradise Garage, Dancetaria and Area weaned him into the New York club culture, and into the music that was to become the house music that we hear today. Crossing vast musical backgrounds over his years as a DJ, both locally and internationally, he continued to acquire a keen ear and passion for dance music. From doing the Club rounds in the 80’s, both locally and internationally, with the Juliana’s and Bacchus groups, residencies with Neo Pharaohs, Venom and NOX in the 90’s, a 9 year residency at the globally renowned, Zouk Club in Singapore, between July 2001 to May 2009, a 2 year Residency at Kyo, and spending more than a decade on the team of Residents at the Swanky CE LA VI Rooftop Club & Skybar at Marina Bay Sands, he continues to be a regular feature in the local and International Club Circuit today.

Today, he is entering a new chapter with his forthcoming album Now Is Forever, featuring collaborations and remixes with artists including Mike Dunn and DJ Deep.
He is an established and skilled DJ, performing all over the world at legendary festivals and clubs such as Southport Weekender, Chosen Few Picnic, Cielo, Amsterdam Dance Event, and Ministry of Sound in London. In Singapore, he currently holds residencies at CÉ LA VI Singapore, Coda, and +Twelve.
His deep, uplifting & energetic DJ sets are recognised by house music lovers worldwide — blending upfront New York & Chicago house, deep house, soulful grooves & disco. Every set is a journey through more than 30 years of house music culture.

Folie à Deux was born from the depths of one of Sivilian Affairs' first Friendly Waters parties at Kult Kafe, when a fiery ang-mo (Miss Lil) and a spicy rojak (Erin Khan) found their unique chemistry during an impromptu back-to-back session. A shared love for dance-driven 4x4 tracks and never taking themselves too seriously have helped them carve a home in the previous Potato Head SG, flex their range at Celestial Seasonings at TUFF CLUB, and set up dance floors for Cinthie and Kolter (fka Djoko) at Behind The Green Door and RASA.

Rooted in the second summer of love and shaped by the rise of house in The Netherlands, Merah’s sound reflects decades of dance floor culture.
Merah’s musical identity is grounded in journey rather than genre.
Growing up as house music emerged through Dutch clubs and underground parties, and later evolving through the country’s influential trance era, he developed an appreciation for progression, emotional pacing, and atmosphere. These foundations continue to shape his sound today.
He plays across a refined spectrum of house music. Each set is built as a journey, unified by warmth, emotion, and narrative flow rather than tempo or trend. He currently holds residencies at CÉ LA VI Singapore and Coda.
